The guesthouse at the LWH is idyllically situated on the edge of the Biener Busch forest and the Emsauen nature reserve. The Geeste reservoir, a popular destination for day trips and recreation, with its 850-meter-long sandy beach, is right on the doorstep. The Emsland region is a particularly popular cycling destination. According to the ADFC (General German Bicycle Club), it is the fifth most popular cycling region in Germany. The guesthouse at the LWH is an ADFC-certified Bed Bike establishment. Below, we have compiled an overview of possible tours in the region as well as the long-distance cycling routes that pass directly by the guesthouse at the LWH.

  • Create an individual bike tour interactively

    Emsland Tourism offers a tool for planning a customized bike tour around Lingen and Meppen. If you wish to start from the guesthouse at the LWH, please enter Gerhard-Kues-Str. 16, 49808 Lingen in the address field above.

  • Emsland Route

    The 395-kilometer-long Emsland Route is a circular route that passes directly by the guesthouse at the LWH. From here, it either leads past the Geeste reservoir towards Meppen and Papenburg, or in the other direction via Emsbüren and Rheine.

  • EmsRadweg

    The Ems Cycle Route follows the Ems River from its source in Hövelhof in the Senne region to its mouth at the North Sea near Emden. It passes directly by the guesthouse at the LWH (Landesverband für Wirtschaft und Gesundheit – State Association for Business and Health). From there, you can either head north to Meppen and on to Leer, or south to Rheine and on to Greven.

  • Dortmund-Ems Canal cycle route

    The Dortmund-Ems Canal cycle route is 340 kilometers long and runs from Dortmund in the Ruhr area to Norddeich on the coast. It passes 500 meters from the guesthouse at the LWH. This route follows the course of the Dortmund-Ems Canal northwards towards Meppen and southwards towards Rheine and Münster.

  • Hase-Ems-Tour

    The Hase-Ems tour combines two river landscapes into one cycling experience. From Lingen, the route leads either via Quakenbrück to Osnabrück or, in the other direction, via Ibbenbüren to Osnabrück. This tour also passes directly by the guesthouse at the LWH.
