Guest information

Here you will find the most important information about your stay, as well as answers to the questions we receive most frequently. In some cases, we refer to places in the immediate vicinity of the LWH – please feel free to use the map to the side for orientation.

  • Arrival/Departure

    Your guest rooms will be ready from 1 p.m. on the day your seminar begins. Please vacate your room by 9 a.m. on your departure day, return your room key to reception, and settle your beverage bill.

  • Bank/ ATM

    A savings bank branch is located at Biener Str. 61, and a Volksbank branch is located at Am Treffpunkt 2.

  • Bus

    Lingen city center can be reached hourly on weekdays by bus lines 71 and 171. Buses depart for Lingen at :15. The nearest bus stop is "Zum Feuerwehrhaus" (600m walk). Further information is available at reception.

  • Bicycles

    The LWH has 21 Dutch-style bicycles available for rent at reception from April to September (€3/day; €8/week). Many beautiful cycle paths pass directly by the LWH. We have compiled a list of them for you here.

  • Bookstore

    In the LWH foyer, we have a selection of books, postcards, and souvenirs available for you. You can purchase them there during reception opening hours.

  • Chapel

    The chapel is open at all times. Please check the notice board outside the chapel for information on irregularly scheduled events or speak to our reception.

  • Drinks

    Tap water is available in the dining rooms and cafeteria during meals. Mineral water can be purchased in the seminar rooms. There is also a snack and beverage vending machine in front of the Emslandkeller. For information on coffee and tea in the morning and afternoon, please see "Meals". Alcoholic beverages are only available in the → evening rooms and only during their opening hours.

  • Emergencies

    In case of emergency, please contact reception. Outside of reception hours, you can reach a member of staff via the on-call service (Tel. 49 591 6102-111). You can also call the emergency numbers 112 and 110 from the building's telephones. Please dial 0 first! A defibrillator is located in the lobby by the elevator. Please familiarize yourself with the evacuation plan in your room or near your seminar room so that you can leave the building via the shortest route in an emergency. In case of a fire alarm, please proceed quickly to the marked assembly points in the bus parking area in front of the main building or in the garden. Please do not return to the building until the fire department has given the all-clear.

  • Entrances/Exits

    The entrances to the main building and Building C are open during reception hours. Outside of these hours, you can open the doors with your room key.

  • Evening room

    The LWH offers four evening rooms for a relaxing end to the day (Heuerhaus, Scheune, Grillhütte, Emslandkeller). Your group's assigned room is displayed on the screens in the foyer. The course leader will receive a key to the room, where drinks and snacks are available for self-service. Please note your consumption on the provided list and pay at reception on your departure day. Bringing your own drinks is not permitted in our evening rooms. Please ensure that the last guest turns off the lights and locks the room.

  • Hair dryer

    The rooms are not equipped with a hairdryer as standard. However, you can borrow one from reception.

  • Maps

    A city map of Lingen, a bus timetable, hiking maps, cycling maps and information on a walking/jogging route are available at reception.

  • Meals

    A dining room is reserved for your group for main meals. This will be displayed on the screens in the foyer and cafeteria. The times are: Breakfast: 8:15-9:00 a.m. Lunch: 12:30-1:00 p.m. Coffee/Cake: 2:00-5:00 p.m. (self-service) Dinner: 6:15-7:00 p.m. Lunch is served buffet-style in the dining rooms. Please place your dishes on the provided trolleys after eating.

  • Newspapers

    Current local and national daily and weekly newspapers can be found in the reading area opposite the reception.

  • The park

    Please use the parking lot behind House C. Please do not park your car in the wooded area! This could obstruct agricultural vehicles.

  • Pharmacy

    Biener Pharmacy, Am Treffpunkt 5, Tel. 0591/64728.

  • Physician

    Medical center at the meeting point, Tel. 0591/963930. Emergency service at Bonifatius Hospital Lingen, Tel. 0591/5000. Dentist Dr. Bernd Bloms, Am Treffpunkt 13, Lingen-Biene, Tel. 0591/6919. For further information, please contact reception.

  • Post

    You can hand in stamped mail at reception. You can also buy stamps there.

  • Reception

    The reception is usually staffed for arrivals and departures. At reception, you can obtain toiletries, a face mask, and a hairdryer if needed. Bicycles, walking sticks, hiking/cycling maps, and games equipment are available for rent. The reception is staffed at the following times: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 - 12:30 and 13:00 - 18:30; Friday: 8:00 - 12:30 and 13:00 - 19:30; Saturday: 8:00 - 16:00; Sunday: 8:00 - 14:00. Outside of these hours, you can reach our emergency service at 0591 6102-111.

  • Refugee accommodation

    In the garden of the LWH there is communal accommodation for up to 30 people with refugee experience. It is run by SKM Lingen eV. If you have any questions about the accommodation, please contact your course instructor or the reception.

  • Religious Education Office (RPA)

    The RPA (Religious Education and Teaching Library) of the Diocese of Osnabrück is located in the basement of the main building. Here you can borrow materials for religious education and catechesis. Opening hours: Tue.: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Thu.: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Rooms

    Your electronic room key grants access to your guest room and the exterior doors of the LWH. Please check that the key is undamaged upon receipt. A fee of €20 will be charged for any subsequent damage or loss of your room key. Inserting the key into the holder next to the room door activates the lights and electricity in the room. Rooms in buildings D and E are equipped with thermostats that allow you to adjust the standard temperature by 2°C. For energy efficiency reasons, the heating switches off automatically as soon as a window is opened.

  • Seminar rooms

    Your seminar room is displayed on the screens in the foyer and cafeteria. Your group leader or speaker will receive the chip card to open the room at reception.

  • Smoke

    The LWH is a non-smoking house. Ashtrays are available outside in front of the main entrance, entrance to House C, and in front of dining room 1.

  • Special diet

    If you would like to eat vegetarian food or require special dietary requirements and have not already registered this in good time before the start of the seminar, please contact the course leader from the LWH team when welcoming your course group.

  • Supermarket

    "Am Treffpunkt" in Biene there is a supermarket and a bakery.

  • Taxi

  • TV

    Television viewing is possible in the cafeteria and via the media racks in the seminar rooms (basic programs).

  • Windthorst-Meile

    During seminar breaks, the "Windthorst Mile" themed trail invites you on a journey through political history. The 1.6 km route takes 25-35 minutes to walk. The starting point is in front of Building C. Information leaflets are available in the flyer stands inside the building or at reception.

  • WLAN

    All guests and speakers can use free Wi-Fi at the LWH. To do so, select the "Hotspot LWH" network and accept the terms of use.
